Sod and Sprinkler Installation
Before starting the process, you should know how to properly measure your yard. Landscape professionals measure yards as part of their quotes. To determine how much sod you need, sketch out the yard area. Measure the length and width of each area. Then multiply these measurements. Divide the total by nine. Sod should be laid horizontally. To get an accurate measurement, you should rake the dirt away. Inspect the area before starting the installation to ensure that the edges are level.
If you plan to do it yourself, you should have someone else do it for you. A sod installer can cut the lawn for you and do it themselves. Just make sure you have the proper tools to do it. If you have a box cutter, use it to cut the sod. Once the sod is cut, use the box cutter to rip up the channels. Then, back fill the trenches and install the sprinkler system.
Before you get started, make sure that you have a box cutter or sharp knife handy. Then, cut the sod along the sprinkler heads. After you have finished cutting the sod, line up the sprinkler heads so that they line up with the sod. Then, use your riser to cut the sod at the desired height. Then, cut the risers to the desired height. Once the sod and the sprinkler installation is complete, you can start enjoying the benefits of the new lawn.
You must also prepare the soil properly before sod and sprinkler installation. If you plan to use seeded lawns, you should prepare the soil first. You can use herbicides in local stores, but don’t apply pre-emergent herbicides to the soil. Afterwards, spread a layer of mulch, gypsum or other material one inch thick. Then till the soil to four to six inches. After back filling the trench lines, you can start installing the sprinkler system. After you have finished backfilling the trench lines, you can water the soil so that it settles down.
The best time to install the sprinklers is when the sod and the sprinklers are installed. In most cases, a lawn will be covered with sod and sprinklers when a professional company installs them. The ground should be leveled before the installation. The sprinklers are placed on a level. The sod should be approximately one-half inch thick, but it can be a little thinner or thicker.
After sod and sprinkler installation, you must cut the sod. You can use a box cutter or a sharp knife to cut the sod. You should place the sprinkler heads at the end of the yard. Once the ground is level, you can cut the sod. This will allow the irrigation heads to reach the right height. Then, you should backfill the trench lines. After installing the sod, you can install the sprinklers.
